Editorial Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
Our standards
- Sourced, and shown. Every article lists its sources: public health agencies (such as the CDC and NIH), professional medical bodies, established medical references and peer-reviewed studies. We describe what a study found, and its limits.
- Calm, not alarming. We don't use fear to keep you reading. When something needs a doctor's attention, we say so clearly and once.
- No outcome promises. We never claim that a habit, programme or product will cure, prevent or reverse a condition.
- Your doctor comes first. Articles explain; they don't diagnose. Each one points readers to their own doctor for decisions.
How articles are made
- Topics come from the questions men actually ask: at the doctor's office, online and in emails to us.
- The writer reviews current guidance and research and drafts the article in plain English.
- A second editor checks every factual statement against its source and checks the piece against this policy before it is published.
- Each article shows its publication date, and an updated date when we make a meaningful change. We review health articles at least once a year.
Commercial content
Some pages on this site exist to introduce a product and contain affiliate links. Those pages are kept out of our article library and out of search indexes, and our articles never link to them. Advertisers and affiliate partners do not review, edit or approve our articles. More detail is in our Affiliate Disclosure.
