About Oak Strong Living

An independent publication about staying strong and healthy in the second half of life, written for men in their 50s, 60s and beyond.

Why "oak"

An oak doesn't stay strong by accident. It grows slowly, keeps its roots deep and weathers more seasons than almost anything around it. That's the kind of health we write about: not a quick fix, but the habits, checkups and know-how that keep a man capable for decades.

What we cover

Five areas: strength and mobility, energy and sleep, heart and metabolism, prostate and urinary health, and checkups and screenings. Our readers are mostly men who'd rather understand what's going on than be scared or sold to, and the partners and adult children who look out for them.

Who writes here

Articles are researched, written and reviewed by the Oak Strong Living editorial team. We are health writers, not doctors. We build every article on published guidance from public health bodies, medical organisations and peer-reviewed research, and we list those sources at the end of each piece. How that works is set out in our editorial policy.

How the site is funded

Oak Strong Living is free to read. We are funded through advertising and affiliate partnerships: some pages outside our article library introduce products, and if you buy through our links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commercial partners never see, edit or approve our articles. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.

Not medical advice

Nothing on this site is medical advice, and nothing here replaces a conversation with your own doctor. Please read our Health Disclaimer.
